日常のなかの、ちょっとした非日常を見つけることを楽しんでいた私にとって、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大は、かなりの衝撃でした。
「ちょっとした」どころか、生活様式そのものを一変するようなできごとです。
ところが東京を行き交う人々は、最初こそは非日常を疎んでいましたが、時間とともに日常として受け入れていっているようでした。
猛スピードで変わり続けることを義務付けられたこの都市は、コロナウイルスへの順応も早かったように思います。
この作品集に掲載されている写真は、2020年の第１回目の緊急事態宣言前後を撮ったものです。
「当たり前」が変われば、「当たり前じゃないこと」も変わっていく。
写された風景に、私はいつも学ばされます。


The spread of Covid-19 came as quite a shock to me, as I enjoy finding the little extraordinary things in everyday life. Not just "a little", but a whole new way of life. At first, the people passing through Tokyo did not like the unusual, but over time they seemed to accept it as part of their daily lives. The city, which is obliged to keep changing at a rapid pace, seems to have adapted quickly to the coronavirus.
The photographs in this collection were taken before and after the first state of emergency was declared in 2020. As the "norm" changes, so does the "not-so-norm". I always learn something from the landscapes I photograph.
