本書はオリンピックを目前に控えた東京をテーマに80点の写真で構成しました。
2019年の東京は、私が今までに感じたことのない緊張や興奮に包まれていました。あらゆる犠牲を払いながらも完成に近づいていたこの一大イベントが、まさか新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で延期になるとは誰も予想できなかったでしょう。
今も収束の目処が立たずにいるコロナ禍。この写真集に掲載されている写真を眺めると、たった数年で、私達は違う日常を否応なく受け入れているのだと感じます。

This book is composed of 80 photographs on the theme of Tokyo on the eve of the Olympic Games.
Tokyo in 2019 was filled with a tension and excitement that I had never felt before. No one could have predicted that this major event, which was nearing completion at all costs, would be postponed due to the spread of the new coronavirus.
Even now, the corona scourge is nowhere near being contained. Looking at the photos in this book, I feel that we have already accepted a different everyday life, even though it has only been a few years.
